BEHIND THE SCENES…AND UNDER THE COVERS AT THE COVER SHOOT WITH STEHEN AND MARY BETH! Soap Opera Update, September 11, 1989 By Rosemary Rossi and John A. Penzotti TAKE TWO ASPIRINS AND CALL ME…. When I arrived at the studio at 10 a.m., I expected to find both Stephen and Mary Beth in make-up, prepping for the shoot.  Mary Beth was there and greeted me with her characteristic warm smile, while she informed me that Stephen had the flu and would greatly appreciate it if we could call him at the last possible moment before the shoot began.  With this to start off my day, I thought there was only one place for our shoot to go from there….down. THE FLUFF AND FOLD To my surprise, things started to look up with each passing moment.  The photographer was busy preparing the bed (a large futon-like pillow, set to a grey wall, that was spackled white), and was in the process of applying double stick tape to the wall to hold the satin pillow shams in place.  He was also readying the lights and making last minute adjustments to the set.  In the meantime, the make-up person was getting Mary Beth ready for bed (as it were).  Of course, for our purposes, cold cream and rollers were not required.
