Aside from working together for so long, the two of you have become close friends away from Days of Our Lives; what bonded you initially? Mary Beth: “We were saying the other day, we’ve been hanging out with each other for 22 years. That’s crazy! I don’t even think we realize how much we mean to each other. We’re good friends. He has a big heart. He makes me laugh like crazy and he doesn’t mean to. It’s fun to hook up with him when I come to work. Even when we were on General Hospital together it wasn’t the same. Patch and Kayla just jelled so nicely together.” Stephen: “When Mary Beth is not there, and I am working by myself or with other people, I am a completely different person.
